Below is a description of what is covered in each session.
Session 1: Let's Talk About my Values
This session takes time to explore your values and how those values inform your beliefs about sexuality. We also cover sexual orientation gender identity and expression (SOGIE) and explain the nuances that exist across sexual orientation and gender idenity. We'll also take you back to middle school with anatomy 101 and discuss male and female sexual and reproductive systems. To be a trusted adult, you need to have up to date, medically accurate information to share with adolescents.
Session 2: Let's Talk About Sex- Avoiding STIs, HIV, and Teen Pregnancies
In this session, we'll provide information about sexually transmitted Infections (STIs) and HIV, but in a fun and engaging way. We'll also cover the slang used by adolescents these days to refer to body parts and to STIs, so you will be hip and in the know. We'll also provide updated information for you on contraceptive methods, so you feel equipped with cutting edge knowledge in case an adolescent in your life wants to talk about thier options.
Session 3: Let's Talk About Talking
In this session we'll provide a framework you can use to engage with young people so that instead of shutting them down, you are inviting them into conversations, even if they don't feel comfortable for you. Adolescents seeing you as someone they can talk to about important decisions they are making with their lives and bodies is critical and we want to help provide you wtih the tools you need to be a resource for them.
